Newhaven to Le Havre

This summer service between Newhaven and Le Havre is proving to be extremely popular with people looking for a cheaper fare than those usually available on the Western Channel. See below for some comparisons and you will understand why this is the case:

The journey time from Le Havre to Caen is only one hour but the savings for a family of four travelling in August (for example) is less than half  the price of the closest alternative.

The Newhaven to Le Havre ferry is operated by Transmanche Ferries/LD Lines and the crossing route is serviced by an ultra modern new ship, the Seven Sisters. The crossing time is 5 hours and there is a daily service leaving Newhaven at around midday and leaving from Le Havre in the early evening.

Newhaven is situated between the seaside resorts of Eastbourne and Brighton. You can get to Newhaven from London by taking the M23 towards Brighton then taking the A27 which turns onto the A26 at the Beddingham Roundabout. Or you can follow the A259 coast road. Le Havre is linked to the rest of the country by the Normandy Bridge. There are 2 ferry terminals in Le Havre: the Terminal de Grande Bretagne is close to the rail and bus stations in the Bassin de la Citadelle and operates LD sailings. Le Havre is the busiest French port on the Western Channel and has easy access to all points south, west and south west in France.

You can easily mix and match the departure and arrival ports. e.g. Travel out  Newhaven Dieppe and return from Le Havre to Newhaven or from Le Havre to Portsmouth or travel from Newhaven to Le Havre and return from Dieppe to Newhaven (or any combination of the three ports).
